Swedish Day UK 2024

Swedish Day 2024 celebrated its 17th year .

What a great year once again, just shy of 200 Saabs, Volvos, Polestars and a Scania came along with their owners to park together and let the enthusiasts look over them.

Lots of smiley people chatting and getting a nice sun tan, although some of us forgot to put cream on with the excitement of the show.

9 awards were presented this year. A big thank you to all the sponsors for your support. The nine prizes at the 2024 show were awarded like this.

Chris Hamley sponsored the “Most Admired Saab”, chosen by the people at Swedish Day, which went to Simon Coleman and his Saab 95 Pick-Up.
Volvo Owners Club “Most Admired Volvo”, chosen by the people at Swedish Day went to Rob Gray and his Volvo.
A R B Property Services, "Favourite Young Swede" went to
??? we need to find??? and his Saab 9-3 Convertible.
Joe Pugh "Furthest Travelled" went to Peter De Ketelaere who travelled from Belgium, covering 450 miles.
Rob Gray sponsored an award for "Best Modified Swede" and this went to Louis Gale and his Volvo C30.
Graeme Lambert from Polestar awarded a prize to Alex Harvey and his Polestar 2.
Saab Entusiasts Club gave their youngest owner award to Henry Furber (18) and his Saab 9-5.
Kirsty Farnfield gave two awards out following the Saab Enthusiasts idea, one to Henry above,
but also one to James Walker (25) who drove his Volvo S60 to Swedish Day.

I would like to thank everybody for supporting this event, the helpers, the sponsors mentioned above, Roger and Minnie for the location and everything they did for us at Haselbury Mill, the internet forums and blogs, good friends Mark, John, David, Ash, niece Siobhan and her daughter Alice for helping throughout the day.  But the biggest thank you goes to all the owners of those lovely Saabs, Polestars, Scanias and Volvos that came along on the day. Next years show will be held on Sunday the 11th May.

Robin.
